Set 3 2015 - Burton’s City of Kawartha Lakes loop

Burton led us on this delightful new 39 km ride starting from the Omemee Curling Club on a warm sunny day. 11 cyclists met in Omemee to ride on the KTCT west to Reaboro (8 km in 25 minutes) where we met 4 more cyclists. We then continued on the KTCT to Lindsay where the short section west of the Hgw 36 bridge to Logie St was completed in 2014. We cycled 2 km on the TCT beside the Scugog R before returning to The Victoria Rail Trail (VRT)  cycling south past the golf course under Hgw 7 to Goldenmile Rd. This section of the trail has recently been upgraded to TCT standards, the trail continues to Bethany but has very rough sections that are not good for cycling! Cycled east on Goldenmile, south on Halter Rd which has one moderate  hill climb before ending at River Rd & east to Hillshead Rd where Conrad led a group east on River Rd to the VRT up to Reaboro while Burton led another group south on Hillshead to Confederation Rd, east to Post Rd for a short jog north to Crossswind Rd then east to Heights Rd & Hgw 7 at the John Deere dealership. Cycled across Hgw 7 on Heights Rd to Beaver Rd & east about 1 km to the KTCT returning to Omemee. After the ride Bill Ingram provided lunch & refreshments at his home on the Lindsay Rd
