August 8 2007 Humber River Trail Ride

Brian Neck led 11 Dudes on this beautiful ride thru the Humber River valley & on to the Waterfront trail. We parked at Eglington Flats Park which is the 1st turn west of Jane St off Eglington Ave. From the 401 you can exit on to Keele St or Black Creek Dr & turn west on to Eglington Ave. Starting at 10:20 we rode thru the valley to the mouth of the river that is crossed by a neat pedestrian suspendion bridge. We then rode west along the Waterfront trail until it ended. This is another spectacular park as the photos illustrate. Then rode over the bridge to the cafe in the old Sunnyside Pavillion, where we had lunch on the patio overlooking the lake. Returned up the Humber, arriving at the parking lot at 2:45 pm , having cycled 33 km. I would recommend turning on to Jane St on the drive home because there is an express exit soon after you enter the collector lanes. Arrived in Ptbo at 4:20.
